JAVIER HERGUERA (piano)

Laureado en Concursos Nacionales e Internacionales de interpretación, las actuaciones de Javier Herguera se reparten por las principales salas de Europa y Estados Unidos, tanto como solista, como con orquesta y como miembro de agrupaciones camerísticas en salas como el Auditorio Nacional de Música de Madrid, el Palau de la Música de Valencia o el Auditorio Dag Hammaskjold de las Naciones Unidas en Nueva York. Ha actuado bajo la dirección de prestigiosos directores de orquesta, como Jesús Amigo, Luis Serrano Alarcón, Vicente Palop, Juan José Aguado, Miguel Ángel Pastor, Miguel Sánchez Ruzafa, Javier Campos, Rafael de Torres y Ángel Lasheras, entre otros.

His interest in all musical currents has led him to perform a wide repertoire which includes monographic recitals dedicated to the work of Mozart, Beethoven, Liszt and Chopin, to tango recitals by the Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla.

Javier Herguera dedicates special attention to contemporary music and the work of current composers, having premiered on June 2, 2016 in Berlin “Ewig op.58” by the award-winning composer Alejandro Román.

Hugely involved in music education in Spain, he has been a full-time piano teacher by competitive exam since 1999 and since then has carried out important pedagogical work, also being regularly invited to give courses and seminars throughout the country.

Miembro de la European Piano Teachers Asociaton-España, Javier Herguera ha sido colaborador habitual del programa televisivo “Clásicos y Reverentes” de TVE, profesor de repertorio con piano en la Universidad Alfonso X y director artístico del Curso Nacional de Música “Ciudad de Parla”. En la actualidad es director artístico de la “Fundación Piu Mosso”.

He studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid, where he obtained advanced degrees in Piano, Chamber Music and Improvisation under the tutelage of maestro Fernando Puchol. After graduation, she studied for several years with professors Galina Egyazarova and Ferenc Rados. With a scholarship from various public entities, among which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Community Board of Castilla la Mancha stand out, he took postgraduate courses at the Ecole Normale in Paris and at the Ferenc Liszt Academy in Budapest, receiving advice from Ramzi Yassa. and Rita Wagner. He has also received master classes from great pianists, including Joaquin Achucarro, Brigitte Engerer, Dimitri Bashkirov and Alicia de Larrocha.
